Aboriginal Sculpture

This piece, created with the help of Year 9-11 St Columba’s students, was made possible by a grant from the Invergowrie Foundation. Ms Connelly-Northey, a Waradgerie woman, spent several months on-and-off at the College, cutting and assembling the work, telling stories and sharing her knowledge and wisdom.

The sculpture uses the snake as a symbolic shape but its individual components relate to traditional women’s work of weaving, gathering and digging for food.

The Aboriginal Sculpture is located on the Kernan Building wall, as you exit the Learning Courtyard.
