At St Columba’s College, students in VCE can now complete their schooling to Year 12 in a variety of ways. While the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) remains the most common program for students in Years 11 and 12, a wide range of Vocational Education and Training (VET) options can also be included. The Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) is also available.
St Columba’s currently offers a wide range of VCE subjects for Year 11 and 12 students:

In some circumstances, some Year 10 students will be invited to undertake a Unit 3/4 subject in Year 11. This is decided based on prior academic performance.
VET AND VCAL
In 2016, St Columba’s offered two VET programs: Certificate III in Events, and Certificate III in Sports and Recreation. VET courses must be undertaken at the start of Year 11.
VCAL is also offered to Years 11 and 12 students, offering studies in Literacy and Numeracy, Work Related Skills, Industry Specific Skills and Personal Development Skills. Upon completion, VCAL students are able to pursue further study at TAFE, gain employment or take up an apprenticeship or traineeship.
