All activities in the College contribute to learning and the development of the skills and talents of each individual student. Supporting full participation in College life, irrespective of financial circumstances is also a fundamental part of the St Columba’s Mission and in this context; St Columba's College offers a number of scholarships to prospective and current students.

These Academic Excellence Scholarships cover full or part of the tuition fees and are conditional upon sound academic progress and active participation in the extra-curricular life of the College.

*PLEASE NOTE: Scholarship testing for Year 7 2019, as well as Years 9 and 11 2018, has now been completed. Registration for Year 7 2020 and Years 9 and 11 2019 scholarships will open early 2018. 

Scholarships are available at three different levels:

Year 7 Academic Excellence Scholarship

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, candidates must provide a Catholic or Greek Orthodox baptismal certificate and be a current Year 5 student in 2019 in any Australian primary school. The candidate must have lodged an application for enrolment for Year 7 at St Columba’s College prior to the scholarship testing date. Candidates must be either an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia.

This scholarship would provide for full or partial school fees for the student’s six years at the College, subject to the above conditions. This scholarship is means tested and subject to annual review, based on family financial circumstances. It is anticipated that for the 2018 school year, the means-tested annual family income threshold would not exceed $90,000. Documentary evidence of total family income will need to be submitted by the families of successful candidates, prior to the scholarship being awarded.St Columba's College is committed to providing an educational environment where all our students are challenged to excel. 


Year 9  Academic Excellence Scholarship (current students only)

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, a candidate must be a Year 8 student in 2018 at St Columba’s College. This scholarship is intended to maintain and improve the high standard of academic achievement of a current student and to give her the opportunity to continue to excel in her future years. This scholarship would provide for full or partial school fees for the student’s remaining four years at the College, subject to the above conditions. This scholarship is NOT means tested. 


Year 11 Academic Excellence Scholarship (current students only)

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, a candidate must be a Year 10 student in 2018 at St Columba’s College. This scholarship is intended to maintain and improve the high standard of academic achievement of a current student and to give her the opportunity to continue to excel in her future years.

This scholarship would provide for full or partial school fees for the student’s remaining two years at the College, subject to the above conditions. This scholarship is NOT means tested. 
 

SELECTION

For Year 7, scholarships are awarded on the basis of achievement in the examination and an interview with the Principal. Candidates who are short-listed for an interview will be notified by telephone at which point, additional documentation may be requested. Candidates who are not short-listed will be notified by mail. 

DURATION OF SCHOLARSHIPS

All scholarships are subject to annual review and the College reserves the right to withdraw any scholarship in the event of unsatisfactory academic progress and/or participation in College life.
